BENTONSPORT - The Mason House Inn and Haunted Times Magazine are once again presenting Ghost Hunter's University.
This weekend seminar will take place on Friday, March 28, Saturday, March 29 and Sunday, March 30 at the historic Mason House Inn in Bentonsport, Van Buren County, Iowa. (Named by NBC's ?Today Show? as one of the most haunted hotels in America. AAA Travel magazine also had an excellent article about the GHU classes in its Sept/Oct. issue.)
Ghost Hunter's University (GHU) is comprised of two fascinating and enlightening events, "Ghost Hunting 102" will be held on Friday night and is for those people who have previously taken a 101 class. The class begins at 6 p.m., with a soup and sandwich supper being served at 5 p.m. for those who want to come right after work. The class will cover more advanced ghost hunting equipment and techniques.
The Saturday afternoon seminar, "Ghost Hunting 101" (a.k.a. "Everything you always wanted to know about ghost hunting but were afraid to ask") is a 3-hour session aimed at educating people on the tools and tricks of the ghost hunting trade. Renowned Ghost Hunter Christopher Moon, editor of Haunted Times Magazine (www.hauntedtimes .com) and his staff will share their expertise about various devices used in ghost hunting and the best techniques available for seeking out paranormal activity, including EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomena). "Ghost Hunting 101" begins at 2 p.m. at the Mason House Inn in Bentonsport. On Sunday afternoon Chris Moon will hold a second 101 class starting at 1 p.m. for people who cannot make it on Saturdays.
At 5 p.m. a dinner will be served in the Mason House dining room. During dinner the Mason House Inn staff will present a lecture on the supernatural history of the haunted town and inn. Finally comes the highlight of the event - the full ghost tour of the Inn, including a session with "Edison's Telephone to the Dead", which was featured on the March 1 ?Coast-to-Coast? AM radio program with George Noory.
Previous results have revealed a former Bentonsport resident who talked about his experience with the Underground Railroad, a Civil War soldier who knocks on the walls in Morse Code, children who like to jump on the beds and a cat named Josephine. Don't you want to have a supernatural adventure? Class size is limited to 30 people.
