Children and Spirits...

[Spirits]

Tonight we were all sitting around the dinner table... eating later then usual. I hear Logan, my almost 3 year old (yes... almost three... I can't believe it either) talking in a hushed voice. I go into the room he is in and he is sitting there talking to an area in the room that looks empty. My Dad comes up behind me and say to me... you can tell who he is talking with can't you? He then asked Logan who he was talking with and Logan said ... Uncle Bill. I wasn't able to pick up on him tonight.... but I guess Dad and Logan did. My Question is....

Why do you think that children can see spirits easier then adults do? Is it something we grow out of... or "normaly" do.

As for your question...There are a few theories about why children seem to be able to communicate with spirits more readily than we can.

One theory is that children at that age have not been exposed to beliefs or conditioned to believe that they don't exist and therefore can see them and communicate with them.

In another theory, some believe that when we come to this physical world we have just travelled here from the otherside into our physical bodies. Since children haven't been away from the otherside where spirits dwell for that long, they remain connected to that realm and therefore continue to communicate with spirits from the spirit realm more readily. As we get older and our lives become more complicated with everday tasks and everyday living becomes more prominent in our lives, people become focused on this plain of existence rather than the spiritual plain. They then forget about the spiritual realm and therefore don't sense or see spirits in the same way as a child might.

These of course are just theories. I tend to lean towards the second theory but do believe the first one is also a part of the bigger picture.

Anyone else have any thoughts on it?
