Spirits may be behind the unexplainable

IN my radio program DzMM on March 12, I had as guest a well-known and multi-awarded Bicolana movie actress we shall call Lisa.
She first came to the attention of the moviegoing public as a bold star who appeared in flimsy clothes. She was among those who started the trend of appearing in revealing wet clothes. She had a well-proportioned, eye-popping body.
That was, maybe, 25 years ago. She still looks attractive despite her age, and is still active in the film industry.
Unknown to the public, and even to herself, Lisa is a natural psychic. Ever since she was a child, she could see spirits and the human aura. She didn?t know she was the only one who could see them. So she stopped talking about these invisible creatures.
During the radio program, she revealed how things would just materialize in front of her when she wanted them, including one time when a live chicken dropped from out of nowhere in front of her inside her house because she wanted to eat chicken.
She could tell when somebody was going to have an accident, or was going to die. But she kept this knowledge to herself for fear of being labeled insane or weird.
Invisible forces
It took her a long time to come out of the closet. And, when she decided to, unknown invisible forces prevented her from revealing more.
During the show, she went into a trance to channel a message from a spirit. That portion was not heard on the air though there was no power interruption. Listeners could hear our voices, only her voice disappeared.
It happened twice. Listeners from a wide sector of Luzon sent text messages saying they did not hear what she said when she was channeling the spirit. The text messages came from Malabon, Quezon City, Cavite, Batangas, Mandaluyong, Para?aque and Pasig. Somebody taped the whole program and got nothing!
Lisa was alarmed. She asked me what this could mean. I told her not to worry. The spirits just didn?t want her to reveal too much. So they muted her voice on the air, although we in the studio heard what she said.
Spirits sometimes do this when they want to prevent people from hearing or seeing something they are not supposed to hear or see. I remember many years ago, we were in Mt. Banahaw, the mystical mountain in Dolores, Quezon, where many supernatural and mysterious things happen.
A nationally famous fortuneteller and psychic was with us. After dinner, about eight or 10 of us sat around the dining table talking about the mysteries of the mountain. Suddenly the psychic, who is also a medium, went into a trance.
I was taping the conversation from the very beginning. The tape was still on when he went into a trance for a few minutes.
When we played back the tape, we discovered that the portion where the psychic was in a trance disappeared but the rest was recorded.
A similar incident happened, also in Mt. Banahaw, in the ?80s. A medium was in a trance, singing and dancing on the street. She said she was St. Clair. She seemed friendly, so I asked if I could take her picture. She said it?s OK but continued, ?I don?t think your camera can record anything.?
I took several shots but when the film was developed, the part when she was in a trance was blank though other shots were okay.
No explanation
How the spirits do this or what force is responsible for such mysterious occurrences no one, of course, can explain. We only know they happen and I have been a witness to these paranormal events on several occasions.
So, it is not your camera or tape recorder, folks. It?s the spirits!
Spirit intervention in human affairs is pretty common. But since spirits do not figure in everyday conversations or are considered as possible causes of certain events, no one ever suspects their role in human affairs.
For example, some illnesses are caused by invisible elemental creatures. I just received a call from a former student. Her boyfriend developed itchy reddish spots on his legs after he swept dirt and leaves near a big tree in the backyard of a house in Quezon Province. Another developed canker sores after destroying a mound of earth he thought was a termite?s nest.
Some mysterious disappearances of objects, and even of people, are sometimes caused by spirits, usually by elementals. Healer Tony Agpaoa mysteriously disappeared several times when he was still a baby.
On another occasion, a high school student in a Catholic school disappeared while in church and appeared several hundred meters away in a football field. She was possessed by elementals and priests tried to exorcise the spirits out of her inside the church or chapel.
It is important, therefore, to consider spirit intervention as a possible cause though it may at first appear to be foolish or irrelevant.
