A Biography of The Trickster
"To know yet to think that one does not know is best; Not to know yet to think that one knows will lead to difficulty."
Lao Tzu
Quintessence was synonymous with aether as a distinction termed as the fifth element after earth, fire, water and air as well as being a hypothetical and invisble form of dark energy; postulated by the science of physics, in one of many such attempts to explain the acceleration of the visible universe. This ontological relativity in terms is an apt example of our reality maps, as the preeminent theorist of logic, WV Quine pointed out,our theories of what exists are not sufficiently determined by the experiences that give rise to them, quite different accounts of what there is, each with its own interpretation of the evidence, may be equally in accord with that evidence.
"Einstein's space is no closer to reality than Van Gogh's sky. The glory of science is not in a truth more absolute than the truth of Bach or Tolstoy, but in the act of creation itself. The scientist's discoveries impose his own order on chaos, as the composer or painter imposes his; an order that always refers to limited aspects of reality, and is based on the observer's frame of reference, which differs from period to period as a Rembrant nude differs from a nude by Manet."
-Arthur Koestler
The intertwined facets within the theory of relativity demonstrate the relationship of motion and gravity are connected with the nature of space and time, the implication being that space and time are not just the neutral stage upon which events take place, but are themselves, determinants in the play. This relativistic model of the universe as well as of ourselves as the embodiment of consciousness, is a standard concept within metaphysics. If there is no independent frame of reference for objects in spacetime, then there is no coherence in determining what events are simultaneous with with your observation.

The spatiotemporal positioning of the observer based on the space-time of objects in static arrangements as a metric for the determination of matter positioned in a objective manner defies current theories in quantum physics.. Such spontaneous, paranormal phenomenon as precognition, remote viewing and extra sensory perception are given little credence despite the glaring reality that experiential terms are fallible.
Perhaps our interpretation of it all boils down to a matter of convenient utility in attempting a consensus of language and not reality itself. Lao Tze expressed the inability of the intellect to fathom a experiential architecture within a reality map when he stated;
The Way that can be experienced is not true;
The world that can be constructed is not true.
The Way manifests all that happens and may happen;
The world represents all that exists and may exist.
To experience without intention is to sense the world;
To experience with intention is to anticipate the world.
These two experiences are indistinguishable;
Their construction differs but their effect is the same.
Beyond the gate of experience flows the Way,
Which is ever greater and more subtle than the world.
David Bohm, the prominent theoretical physicist, regards space and time as projections from a higher-dimensional reality in which the distinction that we make between our three dimensional space and time is at it's essence, meaningless which Plato conveyed in the conceptual basis that the experiential phenomena of our world are only aspects, shadows of invisible real things that he called "eidos".
"We must accept that time is not completely separate from and independent of space, but is combined with it to form an object called space-time...In reality, there is no real distinction between the space and time coordinates, just as there is no real difference between any two space coordinates")
-Steven Hawking
Then we reach the boundary area of four-dimensional spacetime which is nearly impossible to viscerally conceptualize because as in Lao Tze's metaphysics this is the real where "Beyond the gate of experience flows the Way." Beyond mathematical formalism, we are enfolded in it, here and now.
Princeton's Engineering Anomalies Research Program clearly extended this conceptual basis of enfoldment within a summation of findings; "Beyond its revolutionary technological applications and scientific impact, the evidence of an active role of consciousness in the establishment of physical reality holds profound implications for our view of ourselves, our relationships to others, and to the cosmos in which we exist."
Consequently if we cannot envision spacetime as a continuum, it is not surprising that our a priori logic fails to frame the integral and reciprocal nature of reality that is not directly experiential.
The words on this page are holographic representations utilizing the letters which are arranged as you read them. Similarly, the sentences with the words as their parts, the sections with their sentences, and the whole paper forms a dimensional relationship with its sections. A symphony as a whole transcends its parts, the melodies, and in turn the melodies are holographic with the notes coherently enfolded within them
"This concept has a long and respectable ancestry. So much so that defenders of orthodoxy are inclined to dismiss it as "old hat" - and often in the same breath to deny its validity. Yet I hope to show as we go along that this old hat, handled with some affection, can produce lively rabbits.'
-Arthur Koestler
This is the basis of Koestler's Holon theory wherein if one faceted Holon is removed, then the entire facade instantaneously collapses, which, in turn can be embedded in Ken Wibur's theory of "the fundamental and the significant" is illustrated by the example that if an atom is of a lower standing in the hierarchy than a molecule, because if you removed all molecules, atoms could still exist, whereas if you removed all atoms, molecules, in a strict sense would cease to exist. He uses the example of a hydrogen atom being more fundamental than an ant, but an ant is more significant.

So if we transpose this concept to a experiential basis we can see the arbitrary nature of observing spacetime as a linear phenomenon composed of a discrete moments or a objective metric, then the serpent eating his tale may be the cartographic representation of a relativistic eternity where the constituent portions of experience may be simultaneous.
