Do spirits / ghosts ever reveal themselves in Fire?

[Cute Little Ghost]

We have a fire pit at our new house and had our first fire last weekend. I started taking shots of the fire as it was burning and came across some VERY interesting photos.

I posted some of them here at this link.

I know that people have used fire, and water as a way to do divining - see future events or talk to spirits. The more common known form of this would be a crystal ball. So I suppose anything is possible. You would however have to consider paradelia as a possible cause for seeing something.
