A JUDGE who claims to have dwarfs for friends and possesses psychic powers has asked the Supreme Court to reverse its decision to relieve him.
In his partial motion for reconsideration, Malabon Regional Trial Court Judge Florentino Floro maintained that he was capable of handling duties as a member of the Judiciary.
He said this was the first time that the Supreme Court had dismissed a judge for his beliefs.
"They should not have dismissed me for what I believe. This is the first time this happened in the Judiciary," Floro said.
The high court, through Associate Justice Minita Chico-Nazario, found Floro guilty last month of seven of 13 administrative charges lodged by the Office of the Court Administrator (OCA).
While Floro was ordered to pay 40, 000 pesos as penalty, the high court said he was entitled to back wages, allowances, and other economic benefits corresponding to the three years that he was suspended while his case was under deliberation.
Florois also allowed to work in any public office, according to the Supreme Court.
The high court said it was not within its expertise to conclude that Floro was "insane" but agreed with the Court clinic's findings that Floro was suffering from "psychosis."
Floro confessed to the OCA that he had dwarf friends named Armand, Luis, and Angel and that he conducted healing sessions in his chamber during his breaks.
Floro also claimed that he possessed psychic powers and could inflict pain and sickness on people.
