A Hamilton psychic claims to have dreamt about missing Auckland woman Iraena Asher and police say they're prepared to look into whatever information he can give them.
Ms Asher disappeared at Piha in October 2004 after police responded to her 111 calls by sending a taxi. The taxi went to the wrong address and, despite being picked up disoriented, wet and half-undressed by Piha residents, Ms Asher later disappeared.
In an email to the Waikato Times, Glywn McInnes said he dreamt of a dark-coloured car on a road, with the coast several kilometres behind it. He could not see a passenger, but sensed there was a person on the floor in the back of the car or in the boot. He believed the car was a taxi.
Mr McInnes, who calls himself a "Christian mystic", also dreamt of a building in Hamilton he recognised, with an "eating house" on the ground floor and a vacant flat upstairs.
Kevin Loughlin, media adviser for the North Shore-Waitakere-Rodney police district, said to his knowledge police had not received any information from Mr McInnes. However, if they did, it would be looked at, he said.
A psychic has been helping Palmerston North police with inquiries into the disappearance of 73-year-old Jim Alexander, missing for over a week.
