Hordes are coming to see a 26-year-old man who was believed to have died in a car accident a month ago and who reappeared in Cape Town. Khayalethu Duna disappeared on the 29th of April. His body was later identified by his father, and family members, after he was apparently killed in a car accident in Harare, a township nearby, a day after his disappearance.
Khayalethu was last seen alive when he went to the shopping centre with his cousin. He says he waited outside a shop, while his cousin was paying for the goods. He felt drowsy and that, he says, is the last thing he remembers. He later found himself wandering in these bushes near Blue Downs on the Cape Flats. "I felt sleepy and that's all I remember, the next thing I found myself in the bushes with other people; I was not thinking about my home until they found me."
Family members believed they had found Khayalethu's body at the State mortuary. Sixpeni Duna says he identified his son by marks on his body: ?I told them (mortuary staff) about a scar on his head and finger, but I could not identify the scar on the head as he was badly injured ... but the one on the finger was still there and I saw the feet - they were his."
The body of the man earlier identified as Khayalethu is to be exhumed from his grave at Mount Fletcher, in the Eastern Cape, tomorrow.
