(WHAS11) - This rough economy has generated some tough questions.
What if I lose my job?? When will I find a new job?? How will I support my family?? The list goes on....
But what if the answers were available, you just had to ask a Psychic.
WHAS11's Adrianna Hopkins spoke with two psychics who say they're busier than ever.
"Is my job going to be affected by the economy?"
"Will my writing jobs continue on?"
All worries and questions Mary Jo Harrod had in 2007. She worked as a freelance writer, a job she loves.
But budget cuts in this tough economy cost her her writing gig.
"Every day I worked applying for jobs, making phone calls, networking. And my money was running lower and lower..."
A predicament many people can relate to - but Mary Jo wanted to feel certain about her future in these uncertain times.
Wouldn't it be nice if we could look into a crystal ball and get the answers? That's exactly what Mary Jo did, she visited a reliable friend, hoping for a reversal of fortune.
"I went to Marilyn and she said she definitely saw a job for me, it's not going to be here tomorrow, it will be here in a few months."
That's Marilyn Gaddie, an astrologer and psychic.
She says she picks up information using a sixth sense and has a heightened awareness of things other people miss.
"I will hear things..." says Gaddie. "Sometimes you're shown visions, sometimes you're not..."
Marilyn has had a successful business in Louisville for 25 years, and has clientele all over the country.
"Several clients have really thanked me over and over cuz I really saved them money."
She documents her predictions in the Odyssey newsletter.
On Jan. 30, 1997, she says she had a vision of nelson Mandela, Martin Luther King, Jr. and a third African American male figure, with a hazy face together on a stage.
"Well, it was Barack Obama."
On Sept. 15, 2001, she predicted "oil prices would rise over and over again."
Nearly 7 months to the day Katrina hit the coast, she predicted it.
And she had a vision a Ron Howard movie that would touch the heart of people who see it would receive a major accolade. He then won an academy award for "A Beautiful Mind."
“I was ate up with how bad the economy was going to get and I’d been getting it for a long time when everything was rosy."
As for the future, she says this "bout" of swine flu is nothing compared to the pandemic the planets' current alignment has set us up for.
She claims an 85% accuracy rating and a high retention rate among clients.
"You cannot prove yourself to a skeptic. I don't try to. I know I have told people things for 30 years that there'd be no way I would never know."
And in this economy, when many have lost their economic sense of security, she says,”I have a lot of people coming in 'cause they're losing their jobs. That's why they're making an appointment."
They turn to Marilyn to find out how their fate will unfold.
"I’d say every other person that's walking in here, it's either about when is my money going to get better, am I going to find a job. What are you getting?
Fellow astrologer Gregory Grigsby has advised people for 40 years.
He says his accuracy rate ranges anywhere between 80 and 90%.
"You get a lot of people that are in crisis..."
And in these unstable times, he says people have lost more than just economic security, they've lost their sense of meaning.
"You have people who worked 30, 40 years at one place and thought they were going to be secure and all of a sudden it's gone. So they have to re-evaluate their values, their purpose and all of those things."
He says he fields questions far deeper than wanting to know about jobs and money.
"People who have been quote unquote Christians are questioning it more and more every day."
"A lot of people are trying to learn to view life from a different point of view."
No matter the inquiry, people want to know what's in the cards.
And with services ranging in price from $60 for a 30 minute session or $90 for an hour, buying a peek at destiny can be a financial hardship.
But after 22 years of trusting Marilyn, Mary Jo says every penny spent is worth it.
A few months after Mary Jo secured the job Marilyn predicted. Marilyn told her something better was yet to come.
"You’re going to get another job and it's one you're going to be better suited for."
And while content in her new position, a call came out of the blue.
"Someone called me and asked me to interview for a job and 20 minutes after the interview they called and told me I had it."
A year and a half later she's still has that steady job and is also back to typing away on her computer. She's freelance writing again and featured in several popular local magazines.
And looking back at how Marilyn’s predictions came true, Mary Jo says she has a sense of calm.
Wouldn't it be nice if we could all know what the economic future held for the country?
Marilyn and Gregory say they know there are cynics and skeptics out there but they don't try to prove themselves to anyone.
They say they've been advising people for decades and what they do is real.
