New Shows About the Paranormal To Debut on Sci-Fi Channel
Are you a believer?
With the growing number of shows devoted to the paranormal--SCI FI's 'Ghost Hunters' and 'Psychic At Large;' 'Ghost Whisperer,' 'Medium,' 'John Edward Cross Country'--hope you'll consider a feature and/or include SCI FI in a trends piece about 'paranormal' television shows.
SCI FI sets out to make believers out of all of us when paranormal programming takes over on Wednesday, March 29 with new episodes of 'Ghost Hunters' at 9PM ET/PT and the premiere of 'Psychic At Large' at 10PM ET/PT.
In October 2004, SCI FI introduced viewers to Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson--plumbers by day, Ghost Hunters by night! These self-proclaimed skeptics have managed to expose some of the most frighteningly compelling evidence of paranormal phenomenon ever seen on television. Being scared has never been so much fun!
'Ghost Hunters' returns with nine brand new hour-long episodes beginning March 29, 2006 at 9:00PM ET/PT (its regular time slot), following the show's second season premiere in October 2005 which generated record ratings for SCI FI. The last original episode, which aired October 19, 2005, nearly doubled its ratings as compared to the program's season one finale, which aired December 14, 2004.
Jason and Grant head up TAPS (The Atlantic Paranormal Society), a close-knit organization of volunteer paranormal researchers?ordinary people who investigate and attempt to debunk claims of otherworldly activity. 'Ghost Hunters,' a one-hour weekly alternative reality series, follows this group of real-life 'ghostbusters' as they investigate haunted houses and establishments throughout the country. Using the finest technology available, from proprietary devices designed specifically for paranormal investigations to temperature analysis and digital audio equipment, the TAPS crew spends their own time and money bringing peace of mind to those who claim to be experiencing hauntings.
Enjoying record-high ratings throughout its 24-episode run, 'Ghost Hunters' has featured speaking entities, mysteriously moving furniture, ghostly visages and a healthy dose of squabbling within the investigating team. New episodes will bring even more excitement, oddities and goose bumps with brand new investigations and, undoubtedly, more strange paranormal behavior for our Ghost Hunters to confront.
Immediately following 'Ghost Hunters,' on March 29 at 10PM ET/PT, tune-in to the series premiere of 'Psychic At Large' starring Char Margolis, a psychic of international renown with an impressive list of fans including Larry King and Regis Philbin. Her psychic readings have the ability to transform even the most steadfast of skeptics into true believers. This half-hour reality series executive produced by Stuart Krasnow ( 'Average Joe,' 'Dog Eat Dog'), tracks the celebrity intuitive as she goes about her frenetic day-to-day life that just happens to be interrupted by messages from 'the other side' resulting in impromptu, on-the-street readings for unsuspecting passers by. The results are sometimes shocking, sometimes emotional, and always unexpected.
In addition to readings for celebrity friends, Char will also make home visits to help people with unresolved issues find closure with lost loved ones. 'Psychic At Large' will air Wednesdays at 10pm ET/PT (six episodes).
