I came across this news story online. Apparently a Paranormal group is claiming they captured what appears to be a ghost walking. The investigator who is seen in the video, apparently is oblivious of the ghost walking in front of her in a cemetary. I watched the movie a few times and something about the video just didn't appear to be authentic and I also didn't like the fact that 1. her face is blocked - their reason, because she belongs to another group and didnt want her identity to be known? Possible but doesn't seem to be truthful to me. I think if I had such a great capture even if i belonged to another group I would want everyone to know about it 2. Their so-called enhancements of the video made me wonder. Why was the video enhanced in such a way?
Well thanks to Vamp and his unenhancement of their video, we soon find out why. Their video is not what it appears to be.

Valentown: The Controversial Haunt
Footsteps and voices coming from locked rooms, inside a glass display case magazine pages turning by themselves, suitcases moving underfoot, a shadowy figure passing right through a closed door begin to get a little creepy, don't you think? There has been spontaneous tinkling of the old-fashioned bell hanging on the General Store entry door and the binging of its security sensor counterpart when the door never even opens is beginning to get quite annoying. Oh yeah, can't forget the white shadowy presence in a neighboring house or the man dressed in period clothing which appears in both the front and rear windows depending on whether one is coming or going, oil lanterns swaying, lights turning themselves on and off as they please.
In November 2006, the curator and board of Valentown asked T.A.P.S. to conduct an investigation of their building along with the assistance of another local paranormal investigative group. The results of their investigations can be seen on their respective websites. Western New York Paranormal was granted permission to enter the building just prior to the airing of the Ghost Hunters episode on Sci-Fi. It would be interesting to see what results, if any could be correlated together.
Our team arrived shortly before 9 PM on Friday April 21st. That evening a heavy rainstorm was building that would contain high ends by the end of the investigation and lightning. The team entered the building first only with two technical people and two sensitives. The goal was to sense the building for the best places to place the unmanned video cameras and to help better plan concentration areas for the teams in this large building.
Initially the psychics felt that the building was ?charged? with a lot of energy. Most of the energy was determined to be residual in nature from past events within the building. However there were a couple intelligent entities felt by both psychics within the building.
The first area of interest was felt by Sarah in an area known as the grange. She felt one very strong male entity within the room. He is a very dominant figure almost laying claim to the room. She felt it was his long ago and was a place of work for him. She felt also that there was some kind of accident he was involved with that caused some type of injury to his leg. It was an injury that would cause him a limp later in life. His name was Jon.
Another area of interest became the ballroom area, and in particular a small room just off from the ballroom. All psychics on the team would later reveal that they all had felt a domestic quarrel had begun here and then laid trail through parts of the building. It is an ordeal that has caused a great amount of residual energy to remain.
Other rooms of interest included the ?wheel room? which contained a large wheel that people have used to generate electricity by turning the wheel by a crank. This has been an area of a reported ?shadow figure.? The basement was the other location determined of high activity due to reports from the curators and the heavy feelings felt.
Cameras:
Unmanned IR cameras were placed in the grange, the wheel room, and the ballroom. In the basement the camera was aided with an ultraviolet light so that the camera could record on multiple bandwidths. These cameras were then hardwired to a hard drive where each would record its own images separately.
Three teams were developed. One team would monitor the unmanned IR cameras while taking readings on the main floor. Team one (Dwayne, Paul, Ken) would begin on the second floor, Team two (Dorothy, Sarah, Steve) would begin in the ballroom, and Team three (Tammy, Leslie, Teri) would begin in the basement.
Team One:
? Recorded several evp?s in the grange room. No other room proved positive
for evp. Those recorded were at approximately 140 hz
? The palm IR Camera showed nothing.
? There were no physical experiences.
? The building was very noisy but may have been due to construction, and weather conditions.
? The sensitive (Paul) picked up: Began indoor investigation on ground floor, felt the presence of female entity at top of stairway to the left of main entrance. Walked through 1st floor without feeling any other presence until reaching 2nd floor music room. Here I felt the presence of a male entity and felt he was a teacher of some kind. Felt as if he would sit at table facing window and just watch out the window. Also felt as if he and another male entity along with a female entity (the same as I felt at the top of the stairway earlier) walked the floor among the display cases. I also began to feel as though some kind of domestic quarrel ended in tragedy and death on this floor. I was drawn to the next floor where I was psychically shown 2 men and a woman arguing in a ball room type setting near a bench where the woman and a dark-haired man were sitting. I saw a gun drawn and heard shots fired. I lost the vision about then but felt as if the female had run down the stairs. I followed my feelings of the direction the female took in her flight from the man with the gun, feeling a sharp pain in my chest. My path took me to the back hallway past what may have been a pursers office, to the top of that stairway mentioned before. This is where I believe the female may have passed.
Team Two:
? No evp?s were recorded
? An unexplained object showed up in two 35mm photographs taken. Once outside and one inside. Closer examination of the object inside shows there may be a face also.
? A potential shadow figure was captured in a reflection in the ballroom. At the time of presentation to Valentown, the curator felt that there wasn?t anything that could cause such a reflection in that room.
? Several suspect orb shots were captured. Many others which were apparent dust or moisture.
?
? Staircase leading directly to the 2nd and 3rd floors, and then the ballroom.
- I had a strong feeling of presence in the 2nd to 3rd floor span of
the staircase. It was a highly charged area. (Anytime on that
particular staircase, I felt very unsteady on my feet.)
- In the ball room itself I didn?t feel anything immediate, other than
a lot of residual energy. That could be from the building itself
and/or all the artifacts that were stored there. However, noticed
two built in benches that ran almost the full length of the ballroom.
Was quite drawn to it at that point but let it go. Was even more
drawn towards the back of the room (the opposite end from the
stage/band stand) and the hallway that was back there.
- Before leaving the ballroom, Dorothy had come upon a book
called ?The Lady in the Lake? by Chandler. Dorothy conveyed that Chandler is one of her favorites, and found it interesting that of all the hundreds of books, that?s the one she found. At that time, I came across the book, ?Ben Hur: A tale of the Christ?. This book was in the same aisle, same side of the aisle.
? Small room adjacent to the ballroom.
- This room had a foreboding feeling about it, actually quite negative. And the room was significantly colder than the ballroom. While the room is isolated and closed off, and while the temperature should be somewhat different than a much larger room nearby, it should have been warmer, not cooler. Sarah mentioned that the third floor was quite warm when the team first arrived. That room, being small, should have held the warmth a bit longer than a big room like the ballroom.
- I went in the room alone, and didn?t feel comfortable staying in there. I also became nauseas in the room and felt a heaviness. I asked Sarah to share her vibes after she went in and she mirrored my observations to a degree, and went on to say that she sensed a possible stabbing death in that room.

? Hallway to attic stairwell/attic stairwell and attic.
- Took photos of the attic from the top of the stairwell. Again, felt the residual energy.
? Back to the Ballroom.
- This time I went to the far end of the bench, near the stage area and sat down. I felt drawn to the spot, like sitting down was the thing to do. Later, I found Sarah sitting there, and when asked, she said a similar sensation came over her.
- Interestingly enough, Sarah came across the ?The Lady in the Lake? novel, again, drawn to that particular book. We found this interesting since she didn?t know where Dorothy had found it.
- Dorothy and I left Sarah alone in the ball room per her request, and went and investigated the 2nd floor.
? 2nd Floor.
- This floor wasn?t the draw for me that the 3rd floor was. Again, mostly residual energy. Dorothy experienced some cold sensations surrounding her, but I did not feel these things.
- I was drawn to a somewhat blocked door which revealed a very old bathroom. I definitely got a vibe in there, and was drawn to a closet in that bathroom that was boxed in and locked. I couldn?t reach the lock to see what was in the box. I was able to see under the box but revealed nothing to me.
- The room that I felt the most in on the second floor was the large tool room that was partitioned by railings. Got the sensation that the room was still occupied by the man who ran it, and sensed the freshness of the room compared to the rest of the building. This room felt like it was still in operation, lovingly attended to.
- Both Sarah and Paul described the presence of a male figure still that had some type of leg injury. She felt he walked stiffly.
? 3rd Floor/Ballroom.
- Returned to retrieve Sarah, and by this time Leslie, Teri and Tammy had joined Sarah in the ballroom.
- While by herself, Sarah sat with the book, asked for assistance to open the book to a section that a spirit may want her to read. She found a section describing the death of a warrior who had died by his own sword.
- In the same aisle as ?Dorothy?s book?, Leslie kept getting drawn to various maps of the ballroom, all in the general area of the book. Then she found newspapers, again, in the general area of the book. Leslie asked Sarah if she sensed a time period, and Sarah initially said, ?1905? or so. Leslie then explained she was looking for a time of year. After some time I said, ?Leslie, when you asked earlier about the time of year, WINTER immediately came to mind but I didn?t answer since you were asking Sarah.? Sarah then piped in that she too sensed WINTER but didn?t say anything. Of course, we were trying to piece things together with the book.
- Before leaving the room, I looked up and found the same book, ?Ben Hur: Tales of the Christ? again. I found this odd considering the number of the books stored in that room. I suppose it could be just my subconscious storing the book?s location and just recalling it later. But I do not know for sure.
? 3rd Floor/Backroom.
- Before leaving I went back into the room that had struck me negatively earlier. I was in there alone and again, felt I wasn?t wanted there. I get the sensation of a hanging from the very high ceiling, and my eyes were drawn to the light fixture hanging there.
? Basement.
- None of us were comfortable in the basement. The room at the foot of the attic stairs was disconcerting. I stepped in to take pictures but couldn?t wait to get out.
- Felt very unsteady on my feet.
- We were startled by things that were simply scary looking, not by anything supernatural. Mostly props used for a Halloween ghost tour that we hadn?t noticed till we saw them in our view finder.
- We did note the whining/moaning sound of the wind in the basement. We found it odd that the sounds would be so different at that level where on the upper levels it just sounded like wind.
? 1st Floor.
- We never had the opportunity to investigate this floor due to the number of people on the floor.
? Overall there is definitely energy in the building. I feel it is a mix from the building and the numerous items stored there. There are definitely spirits, independent of each other. The 3rd floor room, the tool room/store on the 2nd floor, and another negative one in the basement. If not more.
Team 3:
? No Physical sensations
? Some potential evps
? Some potential ?orb? photographs
Summary Of Evidence:
Western New York Paranormal did discover some very interesting evidence in the form of photography, evp, and an unexplained video. Based on the evidence we had gathered, Western New York Paranormal does feel there is paranormal activity within the building. It?s difficult to state to what extent. We suggest viewing the footage for yourself and the material ? you decide.
